We booked three nights here last minute because an Airbnb didn't work out. We were so impressed with this hotel! Our room was clean and very quiet. Right behind the hotel is an adorable park that was perfect for walking our dog. Minutes from many restaurants and hikes this place was in the perfect location. The breakfast was disappointing, not the great spread we were expecting based on the website but the coffee was hot and always ready. We would definitely stay here again!

Our room was comfortable and clean. I couldn't rate the service because they said no one would enter the room if your stay was less than a week, which was perfectly fine with me. When we arrived, there was 2 bottles of water and 2 bags of chips waiting for us. Plenty of towels and a nice cool room. Our room had a mini fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pot. Not really enough coffee for 2 people and 2 nights but I suppose not everyone enjoys coffee quite the way we do! I also gave a low rate on location. While is is a great location, we initially drove by 3 times before I went against the GPS and pulled onto what looked like a parking lot. After a heated discussion, I looked up and said "There it is". There was no brightly lit sign. So unless you know the area, and know what you're looking for, you might drive passed it several times, too.

Ms Lepage contacted us day of check in to advise they had a flood that morning and could no longer accommodate us. She had already found an alternate best western and pre booked us. So although we never stayed at this location I can say her professionalism and willingness to solve the problem was above and beyond and much appreciated.

Lovely small hotel, very pretty and great location downtown with restaurants and shops in walking distance. Views of the river. We walked over to nearby Ives Park and enjoyed a small jazz concert. Staff was friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was good.

Rooms are spacious and clean - nothing extraordinary, but the price makes sense for what they are. Location is excellent and everything you’d want to see is within walking distance. Front desk staff were extremely accommodating and kind. The evening employee suggested fun events going on around town that evening and was very kind. The morning employee had breakfast ready at 6am sharp and even jump started our vehicle so we could head out on time. The service of the employees is what earned this five star review. Thanks again!

We stayed for a night at the Clarkson Inn. We loved the stay! The staff were nice and hospitable. The rooms were very spacious and tea/coffee was available throughout the day near the reception. We came to know that the hotel was established back in the 1980s. The rooms had pretty nice decor. There are a lot of restaurants nearby in Downtown Potsdam.

Our stay at The Clarkson Inn was exceptional. We were traveling late and checking in around the 3 am hour. I called several times ensure someone would be there to check us in. There was always someone available, pleasant and reassuring on the phone. When we arrived we were greeted so warmly and offered a later check-out. The rooms were Nostalgic with antique decorum. I truly appreciated the crisp white duvet covers over traditional printed blankets, the bedding was very comfortable. Now, breakfast was my favorite! The waffle maker was superb, fresh juice, nicely seasoned eggs and much more. The Clarkson Inn is a great alternative to franchise hotels. I loved the personable experience!

Love the local people in Potsdam. Very friendly and welcoming. Crane school of music is a good place to visit, and so is public museum. Best experience visiting New York state with family.

This place is a GEM! Main desk staff are real friendly. Renovations are terrific.. something you'd see in mid-level hotels. Easy walk to Market St and right near Clarkson. Beds are super comfortable, HVAC works great (no musty or weird smells), bedroom & bathroom are well-lit and very clean (built in nightlight in bathroom.. thk u!). Housekeeping staff keep the rooms in great condition. Breakfast is budget but decent!! Coffee maker in rooms but coffee & tea also available at main level. I usually stay at Hilton hotels, but I'm really glad I stayed here instead of Hampton down the road. I'll be coming back to stay at this hotel.
